A Bradford County man has been sentenced to 150 months in prison for transporting a minor with the intent of engaging in illicit sexual conduct. Mark Douglas Miller, aged 45 and residing in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, received his sentence from Chief District Court Judge Matthew W. Brann. In addition to the prison term, Miller will undergo ten years of supervised release.
Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that between January and March 2020, Miller "knowingly and willfully transported a minor across state lines with a motivating purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct."
The investigation was conducted by the FBI alongside the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alisan V. Martin prosecuted the case.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project involves federal, state, and local resources working together to locate offenders and rescue victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.usdoj.gov/psc.
