Susan T. Lehr, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska

United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced that Amy Holmdohl, aged 47, from Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced in federal court for her involvement in a methamphetamine drug conspiracy. The sentencing took place on January 22, 2025, with United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher presiding. Holmdohl received a sentence of 188 months' imprisonment. Following her release from prison, she will be subject to a five-year term of supervised release.

The case traces back to December 2, 2022, when Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agents executed a controlled delivery operation at the Holiday Inn Express in Omaha. This operation followed the discovery by a United States Postal Inspector of approximately 800 grams of methamphetamine in two priority mail express packages addressed to the hotel.

An undercover Postal Inspector delivered these packages to an employee at the Holiday Inn Express. Surveillance officers later observed Amy Holmdohl arrive at the hotel lobby and collect the two packages from the front desk. She was apprehended in the lobby after taking possession of them.

During a subsequent police interview, Holmdohl confessed to her role in distributing methamphetamine and acknowledged that she had arranged for the two packages to be sent to her from a source in California.

The investigation was conducted by the United States Postal Inspection Service and Drug Enforcement Administration.
