When asked about discussions with a governor regarding federal assistance, Trump clarified there were no requests for federal dollars but emphasized collaboration: "No, no, we just had a good talk. We're on the same team. We want to get it fixed."
The President was questioned about Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's vote against Pete Hegseth's nomination for Secretary of Defense. Trump responded he was unaware of McConnell's vote but noted the overall success: "I didn't know that. I just know we won."
Regarding concerns over bureaucratic delays in rebuilding efforts following disasters, Trump expressed hope that local leaders would expedite processes: "I hope the mayor got the message...these people want to get about building their house."
