Fort Pierce man receives 20-year sentence for producing child sexual abuse material

Markenzy Lapointe U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida

On January 23, U.S. District Judge Robin L. Rosenberg sentenced Blaine Korbin Hulten to 20 years in prison, followed by 25 years of supervised release, for the production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Court records reveal that Hulten, a 24-year-old resident of Fort Pierce, Florida, admitted to engaging in sexual acts with a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old minor. He also confessed to recording the act with the 16-year-old victim. Social media records corroborated his confession and showed conversations with both minors. These records further indicated that Hulten was aware both victims were underage and that he distributed the recording using a social media platform.

The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael S. Davis for the Southern District of Florida, Acting Special Agent in Charge José R. Figueroa from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Miami Field Office, and John Budensiek, Martin County Sheriff.

The investigation was conducted by HSI Fort Pierce and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Hudock prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals exploiting children via the Internet while identifying and rescuing victims.
