A Mountainair man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for domestic violence offenses in Indian Country. The charges against Aiden Richesin, aged 20, stem from an alleged incident on September 18, 2023.

Court records indicate that Richesin is accused of assaulting the victim, causing substantial bodily harm. The indictment also claims that he strangled and attempted to strangle the victim on the same date and at the same location.

Richesin will remain in third-party custody while awaiting trial. No trial date has been set yet. If found guilty, Richesin could face up to ten years in prison.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez. The investigation was conducted by the Pueblo of Isleta Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert James Booth II handling prosecution duties.

It is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
