KC Vanover, a 48-year-old resident of Moundsville, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 63 months in federal prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy. According to court documents and statements made during the trial, Vanover collaborated with others to distribute hundreds of grams of methamphetamine across Marshall County and other locations. The supply source for the operation was traced back to Georgia. Vanover's criminal history includes previous convictions for grand larceny and battery.
Following his prison term, Vanover will undergo three years of supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton Reid prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
The investigation involved multiple agencies: Drug Enforcement Administration offices in Wheeling, Clarksburg, Cleveland, and Detroit; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; West Virginia State Police; West Virginia State Parole; Ohio Valley Drug Task Force (a HIDTA-funded initiative); Marshall County Sheriff’s Department; Moundsville Police Department; Marshall County Prosecutors Office; Wheeling Police Department; Wetzel County Sheriff’s Department; Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office (Ohio); Belmont County Drug Task Force (Ohio); Ohio County Sheriff’s Department; Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug Task Force (a HIDTA-funded initiative); Benwood Police Department; and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (Ohio).
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the case.
