An Española man faces multiple felony charges related to domestic assault, including strangulation and causing serious bodily injury. According to court records, Isiah James Gutierrez-Arquero, 29, an enrolled member of the Santa Clara Pueblo, is accused of three counts of assaulting Jane Doe on September 21, 2023. The charges include assault resulting in serious bodily injury, assault resulting in substantial bodily injury to a dating partner, and assaulting a dating partner by strangulation.

Gutierrez-Arquero will remain in custody pending trial, which has not yet been scheduled. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
