Shontez Andrews, a 35-year-old resident of York County, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 80 months in prison for distributing powder and crack cocaine. The sentencing took place on January 28, 2025, with United States District Court Judge Jennifer P. Wilson presiding over the case.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania reported that Andrews was involved in drug distribution activities in York, Pennsylvania. Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that these activities occurred on five occasions between June 23, 2021, and March 3, 2022. A search warrant executed on March 23, 2022, led law enforcement to recover additional quantities of drugs from Andrews's residence in Manchester, Pennsylvania, and a vehicle he used.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), York County Drug Task Force, and the Manchester Regional Police Department. The prosecution team included Assistant U.S. Attorney David C. Williams and former Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul J. Miovas Jr.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence by uniting various levels of law enforcement with community efforts to create safer neighborhoods. On May 26, 2021, the Department introduced a strategy to bolster PSN through trust-building within communities and supporting organizations focused on violence prevention.
