U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that Clement Leach, a 54-year-old resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, has pleaded guilty to bank robbery. The plea was entered on January 29, 2025, for an offense in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2113(a). Leach could face up to twenty years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, three years of supervised release after serving his sentence, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.
Court documents reveal that Leach confessed to robbing a Chase Bank in New Orleans on March 2, 2020. He reportedly obtained approximately $920 during the robbery.
The sentencing is set for May 7, 2025. It will take place before United States District Court Judge Sarah S. Vance.
U.S. Attorney Evans commended the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Violent Crime Task Force and officers from the New Orleans Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jon M. Maestri from the General Crimes Unit is overseeing the prosecution.
