Clinton County felon receives 65-month sentence for firearm possession

Richard Brundige, 46, from Ellenburg Depot, New York, has been sentenced to 65 months in prison for unlawful firearm possession. Following his prison term, he will be under supervised release for three years. This sentence was announced by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman, United States Marshal David McNulty, and New York State Police Superintendent Steven G. James.

Brundige had previously entered a guilty plea admitting that on December 12, 2022, he was in possession of a Marlin Model 336W lever action rifle and 17 rounds of ammunition. Due to his four prior felony convictions in New York, Brundige was prohibited from legally possessing the rifle. At the time of this offense, he was also a fugitive from justice following a conviction in 2019.

The investigation into this case was conducted by the United States Marshal Service and the New York State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carling Dunham prosecuted the case.
