Susan T. Lehr, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska

United States Attorney Susan T. Lehr announced the sentencing of Kyle J. Logan, a 25-year-old from Safety Harbor, Florida, in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska, for possession of child pornography. On January 30, 2025, United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher sentenced Logan to 96 months in prison. Following his imprisonment, Logan will undergo a five-year supervised release period and has been ordered to pay $5,000 under both the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act (JVTA) and the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act (AVAA).

The investigation into Logan began in April 2023 when a minor victim from West Virginia contacted local police. The minor reported meeting Logan while playing Call of Duty online and engaging in a relationship that involved communication on Discord. At the time of contact with Logan, the minor was twelve years old. She revealed that their conversations became sexual and that she sent sexually explicit images to Logan at his request.

The United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) launched an inquiry into Logan's conduct as he was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. During questioning by AFOSI agents, Logan admitted he knew the minor was fifteen years old when he requested and received explicit photos from her. Search warrants executed on Logan's Discord account and electronic devices uncovered videos and images involving this minor as well as another victim. In total, authorities held him accountable for possessing 14 videos and 119 images depicting child pornography.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse through collaboration between federal, state, and local agencies to prosecute offenders using the Internet for such crimes.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations conducted this investigation.
