The Defense Media Activity (DMA) and the American Forces Network (AFN) have announced that they will broadcast Super Bowl LIX to U.S. military audiences around the world. The event, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, will be aired live on AFN's global television and radio services.
Thanks to support from the National Football League (NFL), AFN will also live-stream the game on its video streaming platform, AFN Now. The Super Bowl will be available as video-on-demand shortly after the live broadcast.
AFN's coverage of Super Bowl LIX begins on Monday, February 10 at 12:30 a.m., Central European Time (CET), and 8:30 a.m., Japan/Korea Time (JKT), on AFN|sports. Pre-game events start earlier on Sunday, February 9 at 9 a.m., CET, and 5 p.m., JKT.
In addition to television coverage, AFN radio will provide extensive live commentary through AFN Fans. Listeners can access this via satellite decoder or by streaming on AFN Go.
For those unable to watch live, "AFN|sports will repeat the Super Bowl" at various times in Europe and Japan/Korea on February 10 and February 11.
For fans who missed previous games, AFN will rebroadcast the NFC and AFC Championship Games between Washington Commanders vs. Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, February 8.
Family programming includes Puppy Bowl XXI airing on February 10 at 4 p.m., CET/JKT. This annual event features puppies from Team Ruff and Team Fluff competing for the "Lombarky" trophy.
To enhance their viewing experience, audiences are encouraged to download the AFN Now app ahead of time. Available for Google Play or Apple App Store users living overseas, it offers flexibility with both live broadcasts and video-on-demand options.
Since its launch two years ago, "AFN Now has proven to be highly innovative," attracting over 100,000 subscribers worldwide with more than one million hours watched.
