The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has reported that Gregory Dwayne Guinn, also known as Gregory Dewayne Guinn, age 23, from Okemah, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an incident involving armed assault. The charges include one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Do Bodily Harm in Indian Country and one count of Use, Carry, Brandish, and Discharge of a Firearm During and In Relation to a Crime of Violence.
According to the indictment, on January 15, 2024, Guinn committed an assault using a dangerous weapon with the intent to cause bodily harm. Additionally, it was alleged that he knowingly used and discharged a firearm during this violent crime. The events took place in Okfuskee County within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation boundaries.
The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the Okfuskee County Sheriff's Office alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted Guinn's plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Following this acceptance, Judge Robertson ordered a presentence investigation report. Until sentencing is finalized, Guinn will remain under the custody of the United States Marshals Service.
