New Jersey man receives prison sentence for attempted online enticement

The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced that Mitchell Inscho, a 36-year-old resident of Belvidere, New Jersey, has been sentenced to 180 months in prison. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Karoline Mehalchick for Inscho's attempted online enticement of a minor.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that between July 17, 2023, and October 26, 2023, Inscho used the internet and cell phone to solicit a person he believed to be a 13-year-old child for sexual conduct and to produce images of child pornography. During this period, Inscho sent obscene photographs of himself via social media on multiple occasions.

On March 13, 2024, Homeland Security agents executed a federal search warrant at Inscho’s residence in Belvidere. The agents seized his cell phones and computers which were later analyzed. Forensic analysis revealed approximately 150 images of child pornography on his devices.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. This project is led by the United States Attorneys' Offices along with the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section. It combines federal, state, and local resources to apprehend individuals who exploit children sexually and to rescue victims.
