Massachusetts man sentenced to prison for drug trafficking and firearm offenses

Kyle Taylor, a 29-year-old resident of Malden, Massachusetts, received a 10-year prison sentence for distributing methamphetamine, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and conspiring to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl. The sentencing was announced by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and Bryan Miller, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Taylor pled guilty in September 2024. He admitted to selling multiple firearms and controlled substances in Rensselaer County between September 2023 and January 2024. His admissions included selling two firearms on separate occasions in October 2023 while also distributing controlled substances. In December 2023, Taylor and a co-conspirator sold over 400 fentanyl pills along with approximately 25 grams of fentanyl powder.

United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino imposed an additional four-year term of post-incarceration supervised release.

The ATF conducted the investigation with support from the Troy Police Department, the Brookline Police Department in Massachusetts, and the Cambridge Police Department in Massachusetts. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph S. Hartunian prosecuted the case.
