U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, have intercepted 47.4 pounds of cocaine concealed within hair conditioner jars in a shipment bound for Thailand. The contraband is valued at approximately $361,200.

Carlos Nieves, Port Director for the Mayaguez-Aguadilla Port of Entry, commented on the operation: "Our CBP Officers continue their vigilance at the Express Consignment Cargo Facilities and effectively employ their experience combined with available technology to detect and deter smuggling activities exploiting the supply chain."

The discovery occurred on January 28 during routine inspections at FedEx cargo facilities located at Rafael Hernandez Airport. Officers identified a package containing 59 hair conditioner jars as suspicious after an x-ray scan revealed irregularities. Upon further inspection, it was found that 51 of these jars contained a white powder sealed in vacuum pouches, which tested positive for cocaine.
