U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers have seized cocaine worth over $1.3 million at the Anzalduas and Hidalgo International Bridges in Texas, according to an official announcement. The interceptions occurred in two separate incidents on consecutive days.

Carlos Rodriguez, Port Director for the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry, commented on the efforts of CBP officers: "Our CBP officers intercepted back-to-back narcotics just one day apart, illustrating the relentless work being done at our international crossings."

The first incident took place on February 7 at the Anzalduas International Bridge. Officers inspected a black GMC SUV entering from Mexico using non-intrusive inspection equipment and a canine team. This led to the discovery of 14 packages of alleged cocaine weighing approximately 25.48 pounds concealed within the vehicle. The driver and confiscated items were handed over to the Hidalgo Police Department for further investigation.

On February 8, at the Hidalgo International Bridge, a similar operation was conducted on a silver Dodge SUV also arriving from Mexico. The inspection revealed 29 packages of alleged cocaine weighing about 74.03 pounds hidden inside the vehicle. The CBP Office of Field Operations seized these narcotics and initiated an investigation with Homeland Security Investigations.
