Matthew M. Graves U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia
Rushan Lavar Reed, 47, and Celeste Nicole Reed, 28, both residents of Las Vegas, Nevada, have been sentenced to federal prison terms for their involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy. The couple received sentences of 51 months and 37 months respectively. They were involved in distributing "pharmacy grade-not homemade pressed pills" across the United States through darknet markets.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin along with several law enforcement officials including Inspector in Charge Damon E. Wood from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Washington Division and FBI Special Agent in Charge Sean Ryan from the Washington Field Office Criminal and Cyber Division.
Both individuals pleaded guilty on October 22, 2024, to charges of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone, hydrocodone, and amphetamine. U.S. District Court Judge Carl J. Nichols also ordered them to serve three years of supervised release following their prison terms.
Court documents reveal that over six years, the Reeds operated an online storefront named "MrsFeelGood," distributing various narcotics nationwide using multiple darknet platforms such as Monopoly and AlphaBay. Their operations included selling MDMA, codeine, Vyvanse, Dilaudid, and marijuana alongside prescription drugs.
The couple used cryptocurrency for laundering money obtained from these illegal activities to make it difficult for authorities to trace their proceeds.
On October 11, 2023, law enforcement arrested the Reeds at their Las Vegas residence where they found multiple prescription pills and packaging materials among other items related to their operation.
The investigation was conducted by several agencies including the FBI Washington Field Office and USPIS Phoenix Division. The prosecution team included Assistant United States Attorney Peter V. Roman with support from Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Isabelle Sun among others.
