Beckley man pleads guilty to escape from federal reentry facility

William S. Thompson U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia

Kishaun Andre Jones, a 25-year-old resident of Beckley, has entered a guilty plea to charges of escape. The plea follows his unauthorized departure from a federal reentry facility.

Court records and statements indicate that on August 2, 2024, Jones left Dismas Charities Inc., a Bureau of Prisons residential reentry facility in St. Albans, without authorization. His confinement at the facility was due to a previous conviction for methamphetamine distribution in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia on February 23, 2023.

Jones is slated for sentencing on June 9, 2025, with the possibility of receiving up to five years in prison.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Will Thompson, who praised the investigative efforts of the United States Marshals Service.

United States Magistrate Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn oversaw the hearing. Assistant United States Attorney D. Keith Randolph is handling the prosecution.
