President Isaac Herzog of Israel welcomed U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Israel, expressing gratitude for the visit during challenging times for the nation. Herzog acknowledged the support from President Donald Trump and his involvement in efforts to bring back hostages following the October 7th attacks.

Herzog described the severe impact of the attacks on Israelis living near the border, noting that many were abducted, harmed, or killed. He emphasized Israel's resilience and ongoing commitment to peace in the region. "We are screaming, aching, praying, working tirelessly to bring each and every one of our hostages back home," Herzog stated.

Secretary Rubio expressed honor at visiting Israel early in his tenure and reaffirmed U.S. commitment to returning all hostages safely. "On behalf of the President, I can tell you he is strongly and deeply committed to the goal of every single hostage returning home," Rubio said.

Rubio also highlighted regional challenges, particularly those linked to Iran's regime. He pointed out Iran as a source of destabilization and terrorism: "Were it not for the regime in Tehran, many of these issues that we are confronting now would not be the same."

Both leaders underscored strong ties between their countries and shared goals for security and peace in the region.
