Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning extended congratulations to Howard Lutnick on his confirmation as the new Secretary of the Department of Commerce. In a statement, Fanning emphasized the significant role that Lutnick will play in promoting U.S. competitiveness as part of the current administration's economic strategy.

He highlighted Lutnick's responsibilities in licensing and approving trade with international allies and partners.

Fanning also pointed out the importance of the aerospace and defense sector to the U.S. economy, noting its contributions to innovation and national security. He remarked, "The aerospace and defense industry is a powerhouse for our economy, driving innovation and safeguarding our homeland – and it’s one of the few sectors where the United States enjoys a trade surplus."

The AIA expressed readiness to collaborate with Secretary Lutnick and his team to further expand their global presence.
