Missouri woman indicted for alleged embezzlement exceeding $100K

A woman from Washington, Missouri, has been indicted for allegedly embezzling over $100,000 from her former employer. Victoria Isgriggs, previously known as Victoria Denise Missey, faces two counts of bank fraud and four counts of wire fraud following an indictment on February 13. She was arrested on Wednesday and is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in St. Louis the same day to plead not guilty.

The indictment details that Isgriggs, 44, worked as an office manager and accountant at a Franklin County nursery and florist from approximately November 26, 2023, through April 29, 2024. It accuses her of using a company bank account and credit cards for personal expenses such as credit card debt, cell phone bills, utility bills, and rent. Additionally, she is accused of making personal purchases with company credit cards that included luxury items and airfare.

The indictment seeks the forfeiture of various luxury items including jewelry, Christian Louboutin footwear, and Louis Vuitton bags and accessories.

It is important to note that charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations and do not constitute proof of guilt. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Secret Service alongside the Washington (Missouri) Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Roy.
