Wausau man receives eight-year sentence for meth trafficking

Bee Her, a 45-year-old resident of Wausau, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The sentencing was announced by Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin. U.S. District Judge William M. Conley presided over the case and ordered that Her's prison term be followed by five years of supervised release. Her had pleaded guilty to the charge on November 26, 2024.

The Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force identified Her as a significant methamphetamine dealer in Wausau during their investigation in 2023. On October 13, 2023, a confidential informant purchased one pound of methamphetamine from Her at his residence. Another transaction occurred on October 23, 2023, when an informant received two ounces of methamphetamine from him.

Her was arrested on February 8, 2024, on an active supervision warrant. Information gathered during the investigation indicated that he was working with cartels to traffic methamphetamine and that these cartels were attempting to establish operations near Wausau. Her disclosed to investigators that he obtained five pounds of methamphetamine every two to three weeks for distribution.

At the time of his arrest, Her was under state supervision for two felony cases: one involving Child Enticement-Sexual Contact and another involving Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His supervision related to the child sex crime was not revoked; however, it was revoked for the drug case leading to a one-year jail sentence.

During sentencing, Judge Conley noted that Her was recognized as a large-scale trafficker with connections extending to Minnesota and Mexico. He considered both the severity of Her’s criminal activities and his addiction issues.

The charge against Bee Her resulted from an investigation conducted by multiple agencies including the FBI’s Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force and several local law enforcement departments such as the Wisconsin State Patrol and Wausau Police Department among others. Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven P. Anderson prosecuted this case.
