The National Association of REALTORS (NAR) has reached an agreement with Phoenix REALTORS, ensuring the local association's compliance with NAR's Constitution and Bylaws. This resolution allows Phoenix REALTORS to retain its charter.

Phoenix REALTORS has removed its "MLS Choice" membership option but will continue to provide non-REALTORS access to ARMLS, as it has since 1996. The organization will also offer certain products and services to non-REALTOR licensees who purchase non-member MLS Access. Phoenix REALTORS clarified that this access does not equate to any form of membership, and those purchasing it are not considered REALTORS nor do they have access to the benefits of REALTOR membership.

"This matter was never about MLS access," stated NAR, emphasizing that their policy remains unchanged. "We are pleased to have reached this resolution, which protects the rigorous standards of the REALTOR brand."

Following a cease-and-desist letter from NAR in December 2024 regarding MLS Choice, concerns were raised that the offering might suggest local association membership and cause consumer confusion. To address these issues, Phoenix REALTORS worked with NAR to revise their marketing strategy for MLS Choice, introducing a new option known as "non-member MLS access."

Phoenix REALTORS expressed satisfaction with the agreement: "After working together productively, Phoenix REALTORS and the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) have reached a mutually beneficial agreement." They emphasized that this revised offering supports both organizations' goals of aiding REALTOR members' success and industry growth.
