Lake City man receives over 10-year sentence for methamphetamine distribution

Roger B. Handberg, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida

A Lake City man, Jeremy Leonardo Roldan, has been sentenced to 10 years and 4 months in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by Senior United States District Judge Timothy J. Corrigan after Roldan pleaded guilty on October 3, 2024.

Court documents reveal that Roldan sold methamphetamine to an undercover law enforcement officer on December 11, 2023. This sale was not an isolated incident; he had previously sold the drug to the same officer at least twice before. In total, Roldan was found responsible for distributing 59 grams of pure methamphetamine. At the time of these offenses, he was on supervised release for a similar crime.

The investigation into Roldan's activities involved multiple agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lake City Police Department. The prosecution of this case was led by Assistant United States Attorney John Cannizzaro.
