Drug traffickers sentenced for distributing methamphetamine and cocaine in Southeastern Pennsylvania

Four individuals involved in a drug trafficking organization have been sentenced to prison for their roles in mailing and distributing methamphetamine and cocaine throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. Acting United States Attorney Nelson S.T. Thayer, Jr., announced the sentencing of these members who operated across the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, including areas such as Reading, Quakertown, Bensalem, Plymouth Township, and Coopersburg.

The defendants were charged with drug trafficking offenses in January 2024 and entered guilty pleas late last year. Aived Abel Garcia, also known as "Nephew," from Chula Vista, California, received a sentence of 70 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. Miguel Aliaga, known as "Migz," from Whitehall, Pennsylvania, and Avrian Haywood Mack, called "The Kid," from Reading, Pennsylvania, were each sentenced to 60 months in prison with an additional five years of supervised release.

Michael Sanchez, referred to as "West Coast," led the organization and was sentenced earlier this year to 14½ years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. The organization mailed drugs from California to Pennsylvania for distribution among local dealers.

Garcia played a significant role by traveling between California and Pennsylvania to manage narcotics packages and finances for the organization alongside Mack and Aliaga. Together they distributed large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine.

Acting U.S. Attorney Thayer emphasized the impact of this operation: “These defendants took part in a cross-country conspiracy that brought significant amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine from California to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.” He assured continued efforts with law enforcement partners to combat drug trafficking.

The investigation was conducted by multiple agencies including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Philadelphia’s El Dorado Task Force among others across various regions. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Lizmar Bosques along with Special Assistant United States Attorney Thomas Gannon from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
