The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) has announced the addition of new members to its Advisory Council. This group of leaders is expected to bring diverse expertise and perspectives to CDT’s work, which focuses on the intersection of technology, policy, and democracy.

Alexandra Givens, President and CEO of CDT, stated, “We’re thrilled to welcome this remarkable group of individuals to our Advisory Council. This is a critical moment for ensuring that technology works for everyone. Our Advisors’ insights and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for a digital world that supports democracy and human rights.”

The Advisory Council convenes multiple times annually to advise CDT on emerging issues and strategic priorities. It operates independently from CDT’s Board of Directors and provides guidance on advocacy efforts, ensuring they reflect diverse viewpoints informed by broad expertise.

Jennifer Taylor Hodges from Mozilla and Christopher Wood from LGBT Tech will serve as co-chairs of the Advisory Council. They will lead discussions about technology's societal role alongside the new members.

This year's new members are:

- Shawn Bone, Senior Director of Public Policy at Verizon

- Liza Getsinger from Strategy & External Affairs at Google

- Chan Park, Head of U.S. and Canada Policy and Partnerships at OpenAI

- Sean Perryman, Global Head of AI & Fairness Policy at Uber

- Juan Proaño, Chief Executive Officer at LULAC

- Justin Sherman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Global Cyber Strategies

- Laura Zommer, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Factchequeado
