TAMPA, Fla. – A manhunt by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Tampa led to the arrest of Yobany Gustavo Izaguierre Barahona, a previously deported illegal alien from Honduras. Barahona, 24, faces charges of two counts of capital sexual battery involving a minor under 12 years old. The victim is reported to be safe and receiving appropriate resources.

According to authorities, on February 20, 2025, Barahona was at home with the minor when he allegedly committed the assault. After being discovered by another individual, he fled the scene. The Pasco Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with ICE Homeland Security Investigations Tampa and Border Patrol, initiated a search operation that resulted in locating Barahona on February 21.

Barahona's previous encounter with U.S. immigration officials occurred on June 25, 2021, when U.S. Customs and Border Protection apprehended him in Rio Grande, Texas. He was removed from the United States to Honduras by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations on August 4, 2021. It remains unclear when he reentered the country illegally.

An Immigration Detainer Notice of Action has been lodged by ICE HSI Tampa with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office as investigations continue. Currently, no additional victims have been reported; however, authorities urge anyone who may have information or believe they are a victim to contact either the PSO Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488 or report online at PascoSheriff.com/tips.
