U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Marshals Service have apprehended Luis Naula-Candelario, an Ecuadorian national wanted for murder in his home country. The arrest took place on February 12 in Pickerington, Ohio.
Robert Lynch, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Detroit Field Office Director, stated, “Foreign fugitives will find no safe haven, here in Ohio or across the U.S., for crimes they committed in their home countries.” He added that removing such fugitives from communities helps prevent them from victimizing Americans and ensures justice is served abroad.
Naula remains in ICE custody as immigration proceedings continue.
The public is encouraged to report immigration-related crimes or suspicious activities by contacting the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or by filling out an online tip form.
