U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins recently visited Kansas and Missouri, engaging with farmers, ranchers, and the agricultural community to discuss industry challenges and opportunities. The focus was on expanding market access, strengthening rural economies, and ensuring global competitiveness.
"Kansas is at the heart of American agriculture, and its farmers and ranchers play a critical role in feeding the world," stated Secretary Rollins. "The meaningful discussions I participated in over the last two days will help shape policies that support long-term success, not just for Midwest producers, but for agriculture across the country."
During her visit on Monday, Secretary Rollins was joined by U.S. Senator Roger Marshall and U.S. Representative Tracey Mann at High Plains Ponderosa Dairy in Plains, KS. There they discussed economic conditions, regulatory concerns, and disaster assistance with producers.
She also visited Finney’s County Feeder in Garden City to observe feedlot operations firsthand. Her tour continued at the National Beef Packing Plant in Liberal, Kansas, where she met with plant leaders and workers.
On Tuesday in Kansas City, MO., Secretary Rollins took part in a fireside chat at the Top Producer Summit alongside Senator Marshall. They spoke with leading agricultural producers about international market expansion and farm economy conditions.
Following this event, she hosted a roundtable discussion with farmers from various states to talk about USDA policy priorities.
