The U.S. Department of Labor has announced the appointment of J. Ross Stewart as its new executive secretary. Stewart expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I am honored to step into this role and support the Department of Labor’s important work.” He added, “I look forward to ensuring the Office of the Secretary operates seamlessly in advancing the Department’s mission.”
Stewart brings extensive experience to his new position, having held several significant roles within the department during the first Trump Administration. His previous positions include chief of staff for the Office of Public Affairs and special assistant and policy advisor in the Office of the Secretary.
With a career spanning over two decades, Stewart has worked in government, government contracting, and non-profits. His expertise includes executive-level decision support in both government and private sectors, as well as policy coordination and public sector management. Before this appointment, he was a corporate advisor for PavCon LLC, a woman-owned small business based in Pennsylvania.
