Both leaders acknowledged the importance of Iraq achieving energy independence, reopening the Iraq-Türkiye Pipeline, and adhering to contractual agreements with U.S. companies to encourage further investment in Iraq.
Secretary Rubio highlighted the necessity for Syria not to become a sanctuary for terrorism or a threat to neighboring countries. The Secretary and Prime Minister agreed to maintain consultations on regional issues and strengthen their security partnership.
