Meridian man sentenced to over 18 years for drug-related charges

A Meridian, Mississippi man has been sentenced to 220 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. According to court documents, Jarvis Jermaine Hampton, aged 28, was involved in selling methamphetamine on two occasions in January and February of 2024. Following these transactions, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Hampton's residence where they found significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, a pill press, and a machine gun.

Hampton was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 10, 2024. He entered a guilty plea on October 22, 2024, for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi and Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics with assistance from the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Samuel Goff.
