Clinton J. Johnson U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma
Today, U.S. District Judge Sara E. Hill sentenced Damon Michael Dozier to 15 years in prison for the sexual abuse of a minor in Indian Country. Following his imprisonment, Dozier will serve 15 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
In June 2023, Dozier engaged in sexually explicit activity with a minor behind a shopping mall. He acknowledged knowing that the child was only 13 years old.
Dozier is a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and will remain in custody until he is transferred to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and Tulsa Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Stephen Scaife and Steve Briden handling prosecution.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood (PSC), an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. PSC involves federal, state, and local resources to apprehend offenders and rescue victims.
