U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), apprehended Isidro Jimenez, a 51-year-old Mexican national, in Coachella, California on February 24. This arrest was part of a targeted enforcement operation.

Jimenez entered the United States at an unspecified location and date without official admission by immigration authorities. He has a criminal history that includes a conviction by the Superior Court of California, County of Riverside, for possession of a controlled substance for sale on August 18, 1994. Following this conviction, he was arrested by the now-defunct Immigration and Naturalization Service and removed to Mexico after an immigration judge's order on March 28, 1995. Jimenez later re-entered the U.S. illegally.

After his return to the U.S., Jimenez was convicted again by the Superior Court of California, County of Riverside, for inflicting corporal injury to a spouse on June 4, 1998. His record also includes convictions for driving under the influence (DUI) on September 11, 2007, and assault with a deadly weapon on February 16, 2023.

Jimenez is currently in custody awaiting removal proceedings.
