Tyree Eugene Rideaux, a 31-year-old resident of Henderson, Nevada, has been sentenced to 132 months in prison followed by 15 years of supervised release. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Diane J. Humetewa after Rideaux pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a minor on September 16, 2024.

The case involves a 16-year-old minor referred to as Jane Doe, whom Rideaux met at a party in Phoenix shortly before August 15, 2021. Jane Doe traveled with Rideaux and two other females to Inglewood, California. There, Rideaux instructed her to pretend she was 18 years old and placed her in an area known for high rates of prostitution. He assigned her a fictitious name and posted online advertisements for commercial sex acts. Jane Doe was directed to hand over the money she earned to Rideaux. On August 15, 2021, she managed to convince a sex buyer to take her to a hospital where she could contact police and family members who subsequently returned her home.

Rachel C. Hernandez, Acting United States Attorney, commented on the case stating: “Predators who traffic in teenagers and force them into prostitution to support the trafficker’s own lifestyle are deserving of the harshest sentences.” She expressed satisfaction with the outcome achieved through law enforcement efforts.

Francisco B. Burrola, ICE HSI Arizona Special Agent in Charge, remarked on the challenges faced by law enforcement officers working on human trafficking cases involving vulnerable children. He emphasized HSI's commitment to ensuring that sex traffickers face significant prison time.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations with prosecutions handled by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona in Phoenix.
