Clifford D. Johnson, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana
Nurldon Green, III, a 32-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, has been sentenced by United States District Court Judge Philip P. Simon. The sentencing follows Green's guilty plea to the charge of Failure to Surrender for Service of Sentence. This announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay.
Green received a 14-month prison sentence that will run consecutively with his existing 27-month sentence in the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). Additionally, he faces two years of supervised release as part of federal case number 2:22-CR-116.
Court documents reveal that on February 22, 2024, Green was sentenced for Theft of Mail to serve 27 months in the BOP and two years under supervised release. He was instructed to report for his sentence on April 4, 2024, either at the designated BOP institution or to the United States Marshals Service in Hammond, Indiana. However, Green failed to surrender at either location on the specified date. Authorities later located and arrested him on August 31, 2024; he has remained in custody since then.
The investigation into this case was conducted by the United States Postal Inspection Service with support from the United States Marshals Service. Assistant United States Attorney Emily Morgan prosecuted the case.
