Jonathan Fitzpatrick, a 33-year-old resident of Pratt, West Virginia, has been sentenced to over 16 years in prison for distributing methamphetamine. Following his prison term, he will undergo five years of supervised release. The sentencing took place today in Charleston.
Court documents reveal that on June 3, 2024, Fitzpatrick sold around 10 pounds of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Charleston's Kanawha City area. He confessed to this transaction and admitted to distributing approximately 90 pounds of methamphetamine from December 2022 until April 2024.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the sentencing and praised the investigative efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Route 119 Drug Task Force. This task force includes members from the Mingo County Sheriff's Office, Logan County Sheriff's Office, Boone County Sheriff's Office, and West Virginia State Police.
Senior United States District Judge David A. Faber delivered the sentence, while Assistant United States Attorney Samuel D. Marsh prosecuted the case.
