Dauphin County man indicted for possession of converted Glock firearm

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced that Myzere Hill, a 21-year-old resident of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, was indicted on February 5, 2025. The federal grand jury indictment charges Hill with firearm offenses.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that the indictment alleges Hill possessed a Glock firearm equipped with a machinegun-conversion device on or about January 31, 2024. It is further alleged that Hill had the firearm while being an unlawful user and addicted to a controlled substance.

This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. The Department's violent crime reduction strategy launched on May 26, 2021, seeks to enhance PSN by fostering community trust and legitimacy, supporting violence prevention organizations, focusing enforcement priorities strategically, and measuring outcomes.

The investigation was conducted by the Lower Paxton Township Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney K. Wesley (Wes) Mishoe is handling the prosecution.

Under federal law, if convicted of these offenses, Hill faces maximum penalties including up to 25 years in prison, supervised release post-imprisonment, fines, and a special assessment. Sentencing decisions will be made by a judge based on federal sentencing statutes and guidelines.

It is important to note that indictments are merely allegations; individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
