Trevon Wright, known as "Tre," was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in New Haven. The 23-year-old's sentencing includes five years of supervised release following his involvement with a violent Bridgeport street gang and multiple shootings, including the murder of a rival gang member in 2020.

The announcement was made by Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut; Joseph T. Corradino, State’s Attorney for the Fairfield Judicial District; Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter; Anish Shukla, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the FBI; James Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge at ATF Boston Field Division; Stephen Belleau, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the DEA for New England; and Acting U.S. Marshal Lawrence Bobnick.

Court documents reveal that Trevon Wright was part of the East End gang based in Bridgeport's East End but had members across surrounding towns. This group aligned with others like PT Barnum Gang and East Side gang against rivals such as Original North End (O.N.E.) and Greene Homes Boyz (GHB/Hotz).

The investigation began due to rising gun violence in Bridgeport before East End members shot Myreke Kenion dead and attempted to kill D’Andre Brown on January 26, 2020. In retaliation, GHB/Hotz and O.N.E. members targeted East End associates outside a courthouse on Golden Hill Street the next day.

Wright distributed drugs including heroin and crack cocaine while committing acts of violence against rival gangs. Social media platforms were used by East End members to celebrate criminal activities and intimidate witnesses.

Evidence showed that Wright shot an associate of GHB/Hotz on August 23, 2019, attempted to kill Marquis Isreal from O.N.E., shot Arvan Smith from O.N.E., killed Myreke Kenion, and tried to kill D’Andre Brown.

A jury found Wright guilty on December 5, 2023, alongside three associates for conspiring to engage in racketeering activity.

Since January 21, 2021, Wright has been detained along with approximately 47 other convicted individuals related to this investigation which resolved eight murders and around twenty attempted murders.

The case involved collaboration between various law enforcement agencies including FBI’s Safe Streets Task Forces, ATF, DEA among others with prosecution led by Assistant U.S Attorneys Jocelyn C Kaoutzanis et al under Justice Department programs like Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), Project Longevity & OCDETF aimed at reducing violent crime through community engagement strategies focused enforcement efforts etcetera
