TUCSON, Ariz. – Border Patrol agents from the Tucson Sector have arrested two men from Nogales for smuggling seven individuals who were illegally in the United States. The incident occurred west of Nogales, Arizona, on Saturday evening.

On March 1, agents at the Nogales Station identified a Ford Fusion suspected of carrying illegal aliens. Acting on reasonable suspicion, they stopped the vehicle on Ruby Road to inspect its occupants for immigration status.

The inspection revealed that six passengers—four adult women and two men—all Mexican nationals, were in the country illegally. Additionally, a juvenile from Mexico was also found without legal status.

The driver and front passenger of the Ford Fusion were brothers from Nogales. They were taken into custody for human smuggling charges. All individuals involved and the vehicle were transported to the Nogales Station for further processing.

The seven illegal aliens, including the juvenile, are set to be processed for removal. Several adults among them will serve as material witnesses in a criminal case against the brothers accused of human smuggling.

The Tucson Sector emphasizes that transporting or harboring certain aliens in the U.S. is a felony under 8 U.S.C 1324 and may lead to imprisonment if convicted.
