Buffalo man sentenced for illegal firearm possession after search reveals stolen guns

Henry Ford, a 37-year-old resident of Buffalo, New York, has been sentenced for being a felon in possession of a firearm. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Ford received a sentence of time served, approximately 11 months, and three years of supervised release. The sentencing was handed down by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Donna M. Duncan, who managed the case, explained that the investigation began in April 2024 when authorities executed a search warrant on Ford and his residence on Erb Street. During the search, investigators found a loaded handgun in Ford's pocket which had been reported stolen from Georgia in September 2019. A further search of the residence uncovered another firearm and ammunition; this second firearm had been reported stolen in Buffalo in March 2024.

Ford's legal troubles stem from an October 2008 felony conviction in Erie County Court, which prohibits him from possessing firearms.

The investigation leading to Ford's sentencing was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives under Special Agent-in-Charge Bryan Miller and the Buffalo Police Department led by Commissioner Alphonso Wright.
