Margaret Boatner joins AIA as vice president for national security policy

Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) has announced the appointment of Margaret Boatner as the new Vice President of National Security Policy. Eric Fanning, AIA President and CEO, highlighted Boatner's extensive experience in acquisition policy and procurement, emphasizing her potential to contribute significantly to the aerospace and defense industry.

Boatner previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Strategy and Acquisition Reform (DASA(SAR)), where she played a key role in shaping acquisition policies affecting research and development as well as production of warfighting capabilities. Her initiatives included overhauling policies on intellectual property, software development, industrial base resilience, and simplifying the acquisition process.

In her new role at AIA, Boatner will lead the national security division alongside Ryan McDermott, Senior Director of National Security Policy; Adam Garnica, Senior Director of Acquisition Policy; Jason Timm, Senior Director of Security and Enterprise Management; and Ethan Bayer, Coordinator of International Affairs and National Security Policy.
