Judge sentences man for burglary and firearm offense

Clinton J. Johnson U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma

Today, U.S. District Judge John D. Russell sentenced Bryce Tyler Pyle to 168 months in prison for First Degree Burglary in Indian Country and Carrying, Using, and Brandishing a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence. Following his imprisonment, Pyle will undergo five years of supervised release.

The incident occurred in July 2024 when Pyle drove to his former girlfriend's home with their child in the car. He kicked open the door and pointed a handgun at her and another person present. After being asked to leave, Pyle fired his gun toward the house before driving away with their child crying in the backseat.

The former girlfriend managed to convince Pyle to return their child. Upon returning, he entered the home again and began destroying property until police officers detained him.

Pyle is a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

The case was investigated by the FBI and Tulsa Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney John W. Dowdell prosecuting.
