Federal inmate indicted for weapon possession in Pennsylvania

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced an indictment against Antoine Tucker, a 22-year-old from Washington D.C. Tucker was charged on March 4, 2025, by a federal grand jury with possession of a weapon while being a federal inmate.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that the indictment accuses Tucker of having a weapon on August 17, 2024. The weapon in question was described as an approximately 5-inch piece of plastic sharpened to a point with a cloth handle, commonly referred to as a "shank." At the time, Tucker was incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institute in Allenwood, Union County, Pennsylvania.

The investigation into this matter was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Bureau of Prisons. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jenny P. Roberts is responsible for prosecuting the case.

If convicted, Tucker faces a maximum penalty under federal law that includes up to five years of imprisonment, followed by supervised release and a possible fine. Sentencing would be determined by the Judge based on federal sentencing statutes and guidelines.

It is important to note that indictments are merely allegations. Those charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
