U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Tegucigalpa, together with the ICE HSI Transnational Criminal Investigative Unit and Operation Underground Railroad, conducted a Know2Protect iGuardian presentation on February 20 at the American School of Tegucigalpa in Honduras. The event aimed to educate students, teachers, school administrators, and parents about online child exploitation and abuse prevention.

"Partnering with international communities like the American School of Tegucigalpa is an essential step in creating a safer digital world for children everywhere," said Know2Protect Campaign Director Kate Kennedy. "By empowering students, parents, and educators with the critical knowledge and tools to identify and fight online child exploitation and abuse, we are fortifying a united front against these threats."

The presentations were tailored for middle and high school students as well as parents and trusted adults, reaching over 650 attendees. Participants had direct interactions with Homeland Security experts about online safety. They received resources on recognizing and preventing online child exploitation along with practical tips for securing personal devices.

“The interactive nature of the presentations kept our students actively involved, and the resources shared align perfectly with our school's mission of ensuring student safety both online and offline,” stated American School of Tegucigalpa Superintendent Liliana Jenkins in a letter to presenters. “We truly appreciate how thoughtfully you addressed these important topics and provided practical, accessible information to our families.”

The Know2Protect iGuardian program is delivered by ICE HSI special agents among other experts as part of global efforts against online child exploitation.
