David Metcalf has been appointed as the Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The White House announced that President Trump has nominated Metcalf to serve a four-year term in this position.
Metcalf's recent role was as Amazon’s corporate counsel for government and regulatory litigation. His career includes experience as a federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice, serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in both the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of Maryland. In Maryland, he held the position of Deputy Chief of Appeals and received an award for Excellence in Prosecution of Organized Crime. He also worked as Senior Counsel to both the United States Deputy Attorney General and the United States Attorney General.
Before joining the Department of Justice, Metcalf was an associate at Covington & Burling LLP and served as a clerk for Judge Albert Diaz at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is an alumnus of Princeton University and the University of Virginia School of Law.
