Laura Dove, a recognized authority on the U.S. Senate, has joined the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). Dr. Yuval Levin remarked, "Laura’s deep knowledge of the Senate and its work will add tremendously to our energetic work on restoring Congress to its properly central role. She will be an essential voice in the case for a constitutional revival."

Dove's career in the U.S. Senate began as a page in the 1980s and culminated with her election as secretary for the majority. In this role, she worked to build consensus among senators from both parties on legislative and executive issues, confirmed presidential nominations and treaty documents, and coordinated activities with various branches of government.

Following her retirement from Senate service in 2020, Dove took on a role at Ford Motor Company leading federal government relations for two years. Subsequently, she became a senior fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics and a Pritzker Fellow at the University of Chicago, where she taught about the Senate's role in American democracy.

Expressing her gratitude towards AEI leadership, Dove stated, “I am thankful to Robert Doar and Yuval Levin for the opportunity to collaborate with the experts and scholars at AEI. I have admired the clarity and rigor of AEI’s work for many years.”
