A man from Hot Springs, Arkansas, has been sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine. The sentencing was conducted by Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey at the United States District Court in Hot Springs.
Court records indicate that during narcotics investigations in the Hot Springs area, the 18th East Judicial District Drug Task Force identified Antwon Lakeith Burns, 41, as a drug dealer. On April 10, 2024, investigators executed a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Burns. The substance was sent to the DEA crime lab and confirmed to be 52.9 grams of pure methamphetamine.
Burns pleaded guilty on October 7, 2024, to distributing more than fifty grams of methamphetamine.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes.
The investigation involved the collaboration of the 18th Judicial District East Drug Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations Little Rock.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Trent Daniels prosecuted the case for the United States.
