Donovan Tyler Ray, a 33-year-old resident of Hugo, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender. This announcement was made by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
According to the indictment, Ray was convicted of second-degree rape in Oklahoma in 2020. He was required by law to register as a sex offender. However, from November 21, 2024, until January 3, 2025, he did not comply with this requirement while moving within Indian country in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The case was investigated by the United States Marshals Service. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted Ray's plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. Until sentencing, Ray will remain in custody under the United States Marshals Service.
